So can anybody "human" fix this? :D

I have now made it possible for the software to parse correct id's for DC-G9 and lens reported by EXIF as "DG 12-60/F2.8-4.0". Please test it and report if that works for you.

Well a pretty clever human set the whole place up. There has to be some imperfections. Not that there are many as far as I can see.

See photo posted. Works like a charm.

Thanks @Pekka!

Edit: It did show the Lens as "undecided" even though it showed the lens correctly?????

So I chose it an saved and that undecided went away. However it does that every time. :(

That text is shown only for your eyes. It appears because the actual lens name (when lens id is not found) has many more type definition components than the text block found on exif, and the algorithm marks the result as undecided. It is only there as helpful information for you. If there were more undecided choices found, you’d get a choice to pick the correct one in the editor.

This camera has probably already been requested to be added to the gear database but just in case it hasn't, I'm asking that the new Sony a7rIV be added.

Thanks

One of the interesting problems I have is using Nikkor AI-S lenses which are not in the database. I also use and have used Contax, Zeiss, and Leica lenses for Canon and Nikon. I have used a bunch of them over the years. These lenses do not have codes so they do not make it to the EXIF data. Nikon allows users to define a lens focal length and will track ISO, shutter, and aperature, but no manufacturer. And it's a problem that there is EXIF editor in CS or the raw converters to edit the lens type field. Here is a list of lenses I have used over the years.

-- Nikon AI-S --
Nikkor 18/2.8
Nikkor 28/2.8
Nikkor 35/2.8
Nikkor 55/2.8 micro
Nikkor 58/1.2 Noct
Nikkor 85/2.8
Nikkor 105/2.5
Nikkor 180/2.8
Nikkor 300/4

-- Leica R --
Elmarit 19/2.8 II
Elmarit 100/2.8 APO macro
Elmarit 180/2.8 APO
Telyt 280/4 APO

-- Contax/Zeiss --
Distagon PC 35/2.8
Distagon 50/1.7
Planar 100/2

-- Zeiss (modern F mount) --
Distagon 21/2.8
Distagon 25/2.8
Distagon 35/2
Distagon 50/2
Sonnar 135/2 APO

It's crazy but I am a manual focus guy. I get a ton of mileage out of old school lenses.

I just went through the gear browser and searched for USB, webcam, Astro cam, etc, anything that might allow for popular imaging cameras used for astrophotography and all sky application. Can't even get a basic "USB camera" option to pop up. Not asking for the thousands of models of astro cameras to be added but having a single generic USB camera or something as an option so I can stop labeling all my astro imaging with my Canon/Fuji stuff just to be able to add it to the gallery would be nice.

Very best,
