The body is a little smaller and lighter than my 5D4. The EF glass though I think was smaller than the RF glass. Thankfully with the adapter, they work better than they did on the old DSLR’s. No MA needed. Seemed like it got a lot of bad press in the beginning, but it’s gained a lot of respect now.

Did some Googling - fractionally larger and heavier that the Panasonic G9, which is currently my main camera. Although in saying that, I really loved using the M5 last week. So light, and I could carry it, and two lenses in my work bag - had forgotten how fantastic that the kit is for carrying around.

No money for GAS at present, but perhaps when the next model EOS R comes out I might pick up a second hand of the original one.

Panasonic G9: Lenses covering 8 - 300mm
Canon M5: A variety of Canon, Sigma, Tamron, Tokina, prime and zoom lenses, Samyang fisheye, 2 lovely Minolta MD, just for fun a Helios 44-2 58m - and adapters.

Has anyone used many EF-S lenses with an EF-M camera? They aren’t quite as compact, but there are a ton more options.

I've tried the 50 f/1.8 (EF, I know), and the Tamron 17-50. The 50 feels at home w/ adapter on the M50, so I wouldn't hesitate putting a <50mm on there, or even a macro. The Tamron, I would not recommend. Because of the weight difference, it felt like the equivalent of putting a 70-200 f/2.8 on a Rebel series body. I ended up looking at third party options, mainly Rokinon (because that's what I'm used to using for video) and small/light primes. It's a shame there isn't more third party support for the M series.

This is exactly why I started this thread. Many people wanted to stick to individual threads for each body in the series, but there aren't really enough people for those threads to get much traffic. I'm very happy there is now a good thread for people to gather in. Thank you all for your participation!

I haven't shared in a long time - this one was taken on a cruise last February. EF-M 11-22 through the window of our ship in Costa Maya.

The M series to me works well with the EF primes I have. The 40 and 50/1.4 have become my favorites for the table top shots I usually do. For walking around the EF-M 22 does what I usually like although I do wish for a slightly wider version. Canon doesn't have quite the spec I would like and that is mainly speed. If I want it wider I tend to do a stitch and that hasn't been to much of a hassle since the M6 is sufficiently fast. (Had more difficulty with the M3 in that regard.)

A couple recent images. The moon image is a stack of 80/100 images. I just bought a 2x teleconverter off ebay and am anxious to see how it will do (maybe stacked with my 1.4x). These might be some of the last color images I take with my M6 (as I plan to get it converted to IR in the spring).

The 90 TS-E was on my list when I had the 5D. Now wondering how well the 45mm TS-E would be on the M body. Thoughts?

Probably a couple of the last few images from my M6 as I should have my M6 II in a few days.

How do people like the M6 Mark II? Anyone compare it to the original M6? I just sold my M6 (and more because I was going to get out of the M series for now, but now I want back in. lol)

Just landed an M6 Mark II on Greentoe! Woot! Got an adapter on Amazon (great price at the moment plus I had points to spend). Just working on getting a 22mm now.
