I'm asking because my R blows the 7Dii out of the water (AF accuracy and IQ) for birding too (both static and BIF). I just wonder if 90D is so much better than 7Dii?? My 7Dii only beats my R in a couple of areas, initial grab from OOF (including re-acquiring lost subject) and FPS.

But I hear a lot about the EOS-R not locking on to small relatively distant birds, which should not be an issue for spot af. My 7DII with 400DOII+1.4ex locks on immediately in spot af. The R locked locked on to these every time. Image Editing OK

For each C1-3 you can customize viewfinder and screen viewing options. This also applies for playback. Nice to clean all the clutter up. Image Editing OK

They had a mix of spot light colors on the ceiling, but it was reasonable. Brought in two small lights and umbrellas on stands for photos that were apart from the ceremony. vadenphotography.com

Replacing a 5d mk iii and Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 (IS quit working). Hope I enjoy the change. I think you will really like it. A bit of an adjustment especially coming from the 5D3 but the AF is and programing options are really cool. I've been fine tuning every day. I'm using the the new Fv mode and set up C1-3 modes. For C3 and it is set up for AI Servo, zone AF and Initial AF for face recognition - set to Auto. If I press the AF-ON multiple AF points come on. If it sees an eye it all points disappear and it hones in on it. If I put my thumb on the LCD I can place the AF point to where I want it and it will track peoples heads and eyes. It was tracking people on the television last night. Image Editing OK
