2.3L, they are squeezing more and more power out of smaller and smaller engines. Plus a 10 speed transmission, never heard of such a thing. Mine had a 4 liter engine that was around 190 HP.

That 10 speed is tough. It’s in my Expedition that has 475ish HP and TQ. That tank will go 0-60 in 6.5 or less. Not sure how different the 10 speed is in various cars though. These new transmissions are awesome. I have a Mercedes E300 right now with a 2.0L turbo and a 9 speed. It does 0-60 in around 6.5 and I get 30mpg on my daily commute.

goodbye Nikon colors...wish I never wasted 5+ years of my life on you.
28-70mm - my favorite lens ever now...don't miss any of my primes at all. Don't feel the need to bring a 70-200 to portrait sessions like this at all also.
2nd shot is with 16-35 which I haven't used in any of my shoots the last 6 years but it's refreshing to use.

Glad you like the lens! It’s nice to travel with only 1 lens.

Found one. 400 DO II and 2X. Couldn't try crop. It was too close.

Too close, I wish I had that problem  around here they seem to know that perfect distance to turn the shot into mud.

Nice shots BTW.

I intend to, just don't have the financial resources to make mistakes, so these fora help me a lot.
Out of curiosity though: since you have the Nikon 500PF, and have used the Canon 400DOII (+1.4TC):
How do they compare?

Completely understand, Chris. These aren't easy decisions.

PM'd you w/ lens compares, I don't want to derail the R discussion :)

Now I just need the rain to go away so I can get it outside and a real estate job to see if it will really replace my 11-24mm F4L

Interested to hear how you like it.

Nice shots BTW.

They are very skittish. I was lucky. They usually don’t hang around that long.

My take on it is slightly sharper than the original 24-105. Much better on the outsides when it comes to distorting people, etc on the outsides. Corners are better but like it’s predecessor it still has CA. I like it.

I really wish Canon did something a little more special with the RF 24-105 f/4 (better yet, an EF, that way it'd fit on all my cameras) and that would be make it f/2.8 I think that would be the ultimate walk around glass, at least for me. But then it'd eat the sales of the RF 24-70 f/2.8 is I suppose.

That is the better alternative if you need wicked IQ. I had that lens. It was perfect for critical work like weddings, but I just didn’t need the weight and 2.8 for my purposes any more. I do miss it’s IQ but for hobby stuff and as a walk around I don’t think I’ll get less likes with my 24-105.

Yes, having this lens makes me not gear hungry. I don't need the 50 1.2, 85 1.2, even 70-200.... I don't need any of my other primes I used to use like 24mm, 35mm, 58mm, and 85mm 1.4.... lol

Thanks for selling me the lens!
