Beautiful colors and awesome details in his feathers.

Thanks Gene, one of my favorite shots from the trip.
It's one I stood there----thank God for the monopod+gimbal----for 1 hr. 20 min's waiting waiting waiting.

Yes I think even with 1.4TC the lens does well, and glad it made it in time for the trip. Though could have done a lot
of the shots I did with it via the 100400.....alas Poof has taken over that lens. I'll change that up on her when the 70-350G
gets here. She'll love the weight even more.

Just took my new Sony a7rmiii/Sigma 105 1.4 out to a local renaissance fair. Missed focus on a few shots as I didn't have the camera set up quite right but nailed 9 of 10 easily so I am extremely happy with my new combo. I find the 105mm focal length perfect for the majority of what I shoot and that 1.4 aperture is just perfect.

my buddy was gushing over the lens at first...... now he is back to using the 85gm. It might be a good time for me to borrow

for me, a 35 f1.2 and 105 f1.4 would be the perfect large aperture combo (on paper). If only sigma can slim down the 105 for mirrorless, being the size it is, it can run into some issues fitting into bags.

I always imagined an f1.4 Art trinity with the 24/50/105 would be pretty sweet from Sigma, but that would be a very heavy and large kit!

I did an engagement shoot for a classmate and am pretty happy with the results. This was my first time shooting anything like this, and also my first time using a softbox on location. I'm still tweaking the editing, but she's thrilled with them. One thing I feel could use some work is making the WB consistent through the series. I also wish I hadn't cut shoes and hands out of certain frames! I'd love some feedback on them!

Lol, while the Sigma 105 1.4 may in fact be a larger and heavier lens than most primes it is nothing compared to the Nikon 200 f2 I am used to carrying around all day. I was going to drag out the 200 f2 on the second day of the fair but the 105 1.4 was giving me everything I wanted so the 200 was left to sit.

that's the way I look at it as well, 200 is much tougher not only to carry around, but the working distance. I've had the canon 100, zeiss 100, and nikon 105 f2.5, and I really miss that range. I've been making due with 135 for the longest time, mostly because I often need the added reach, but for my personal liking, 105 is where it's at. I didnt like the canon as much, but the zeiss 100 and nikon 105 were superb lenses.

La Ventana Arch - El Malpais NM

I had the great experience of being "almost" alone there except for one couple. The man decided this was the best time to pull out his Cell Phone and start talking to "Jim" about work and life and well just about everything..... including how great it was to experience this arch.......and talk about work apparently.

So I found a back way up to the base of the arch to get away from him.

A couple of recents, the first of my little ones with the 85 (loving that lens already), then one of the Malverns (smallish mountain range in England) with the 16-35.
