There are a lot of amazing insect shots in this thread. Here are a couple of shots of mine I took recently. I hope they are worthy enough to be here.

Those are great, Gene! I like the ants, they look like they are dancing. And the mantis looks so sweet and kind even if it is a ruthless predator.

I think it's more a case of, "Bring out yer dead!"

I was thinking this Mantis was being really patient with me. Turned out it was dead.

I was testing out a Manfrotto Lumimuse8 LED light on my camera when a very small "Common Bluetail" Dragonfly (Ischnura heterosticta) landed in front of me. He took off again when I raised my camera too quickly. But he returned a few moments later so I slowly reached out, taking several pictures at arm's length before he flew away again. He seemed to be as interested in me as I was of him.
