Every week we select a new theme, and then go out and shoot that theme. This week the theme is The Letter "P". As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.

We are looking for things that start with the Letter "P"

Here are the rules:
1. Shots need to be taken between Tuesday, after the new theme is posted and the following Monday by sunset (Whenever that is for you). Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Snapshots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
2. Post your shots at any time during the week.
3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e. embedding them) but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. A copy of the size rules can be found here: IMAGE POSTING RULES
That's it! Have fun! As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.
An index to previous weeks can be found here: POTN WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK INDEX

That's it!
Have fun!

Tim, I was wondering whether your place was affected. By this morning's news, it seems likely. Maybe Stina's in the shutoff zone for future days, too. We're at a lower elevation than the predicted high winds.

What a mess! Aside from the obvious difficulties with keeping food cold and so forth, security in the hills depends on electric alarm systems.

I read that So. Cal. Edison is conducting outages for the same reason. The companies aren't the only cause of the present extreme fire danger. There's been a lot going on for years that got us to this point.

I've been busy and haven't had the time to shoot much this week because I've been working on a new line of my services: wedding dresses in watercolor and later in oil and acrylics with or without the bride.
So here is my watercolor dress as prototype

Being born and raised in SoCal, I'm pretty aware of the cycle of fire and drought here. We've always had fire, drought and Santa Ana winds. Some plants cannot reproduce without being burned. It is more recently that the source of many of the fires, is in fact, the power companies neglect of their equipment and land easements. It does not help, of course, that people build their homes in areas that are known to burn and use materials that burn so very well...

Yeah, then the power wouldn't have to be cut for all too many people. It's made the news here even.

However, with all the rain we have had, our own drought (caused by the summer of 2018) is still not over. It is in the westerns parts (where I am) but not in large parts in the east where the soil is so dry that it can't absorb the rain and instead the water flows away into the rivers.

We have power at work and home. I did fill up the holding tank so we have plenty of water and we have a generator for the fridge and tv if power goes out.
We are used to loosing power at my house.
