Last month we visited the Falkirk wheel which is a structure that lowers and raises canal boats from two canals which are at different levels. My two friends and their families were there too and are in the video.

All shot with the GoPro

So cute! I think you should give Calum the camera for a bit next time so he can shoot some video of you too. Or are you that shy? :p

This lizard decided to bask in the sun on the top of this cinder block wall.

EDIT: Removed dust spot.

Great detail.

What is that little gray orb/spot looking thing top left corner?

DLee, 35/1.8 en route. You were killing me ;)
Re-aquainted with the 85/1.8 last night while vodka'ing. I'm sure
to like the third member of the triumvirate.

I appreciate you pointing it out. Sometimes I post images in the 'excitement of the moment' and miss things like that.

Did you find my signature yet? It's on top of the wall.

yeah, I eventually found it...I have a hard time seeing your sigs when they are like that one...my eyes have a hard time picking it out...kinda like micro contrast that others can see that I can't.

Love the atmosphere and angle on this one, nice!

So I wrapped up last night with just shy of 9K frames in 2 days...most of it yesterday, and most of it trying for really low percentage images...the benefit of shooting only for myself...so despite being exhausted, sore and sleepy...the culling process starts now...and I think I am gonna pick up an A7III when I get the funds...10 FPS mechanical shutter was really nice, anti flicker...really a nice little piece of kit for the price, would be a suitable backup to the a9 and shares parts with it...I do miss the extra control knob on the a9 and the lock button on the right side knob, but those things can be overcome.

One of the whip pans I tried this weekend...one of the places I wanted to shoot them wasn't a good spot anymore...

Anyway...its way more fine/abstract art than it is motorsports photography but I really like the look of it.

I've been super busy as of late, but just wanted to say really great photos from everyone lately.

Also...I really love the FE 35 f1.8, but I did a quick shoot with the kids and did my typical 35mm 85mm combo....and the FE 35 does not pair well with the 85GM at all. FE 35 f1.4 wasn't a perfect match either, but that lens doesn't have the strong microcontrast of the f1.8. It's just such a jarring contrast against the 85GM.

I'm about to enter peak photo season and will need to make a decision about this. I have a wedding and a bridal shoot for another wedding this weekend....good reason to rent some gear to figure things out. I've got an a7rIV on rental this wknd, so will put that through its paces. I may pick up the Sigma 35 f1.2 to see how it fares for paid work.

I think subconsciously, my GAS was always going to lead me in this direction...otherwise I never would have sold the FE 35 1.4 to Travis lol.

Don't get me wrong, FE 35 1.8 is a FANTASTIC lens for what it is...again its more a matter of how the rendering pairs with the 85GM and really other GM lenses.

sorry to hear you are not feeling the combo of the GM and the 35 f/1.8...I would offer to return your FE35ZA...but I don't think I can do that...I actually used it at the race track last night...I have not used it much, but plan to in the coming weeks for some sessions...I think it pairs nicely with the 85GM...curious to see what you think about the Sigma35...
