Nice work Alfredo, I really like that second one

Thanks Eddie. That one I call the hero shot. Nice sky the evening I shot this series.

Finally thru the pics from my trip. I am not satisfied but I can say the atmospherics were not on my side. Harsh light from sunrise to sunset just no color and harsh white the whole time.

So I was supposed to do

Tucson for:
Ansel Adams Research
Board meeting for Archaeology SW

then travel to

Very Large Array MISSED DUE TO RAIN
El Malpais
Sandstone cliffs
La Ventana Arch
Big skylight Cave

Then travel to

Chaco
Chaco
Ah Shi Sle Pah
Chaco

Then Travel to

Canyon De Chelly MISSED DUE TO GETTING LOST ONE DAY IN CHACO

SO I missed 2 important stops. Ah Shi Sle Pah is the place with the hoodoos and is very hard to locate because Navajo roads tend to "change" numbers and routes often. We drove right by it and I even said "hmm we should be down there".... before going another 30 miles the wrong way. Rest of the group went back to camp I went out and found it alone at sunset but not knowing how to get back to camp I shot the hour before sunset and even if I had stayed the light was awful.

Short recap. Amazing great trip with awful light and a Photog that couldn't adapt for that light. I will say the 24 GM was just ok nothing I need. The lox 21 became the go to quickly because at F11 everything pretty much is in focus always which ended up being easier than working the focus buttons.

Best part.... I was alone and VERY alone most of the trip. Just something about sitting in a ruin from the 800s that is so far out on a trail I know I was the only person within 5 miles and just sat and soaked it in.

Worst part...... Blew out my toes with blisters really bad bad bad.

Wonderful Eriet. We do love the west.
Poof has already planned next years trip. Idaho and Montana. Two she's never explored. I'll be studying the bird maps before hand.
She has relatives in Boise so must go through there.

When I lived in Spokane Wa (right by Idaho boarder) I never took advantage of being so close to Montana and Glacier etc. Did some hiking but no photos. There is lots to see and do there.

I like them both for different reasons...the tighter portrait version invites you into the scene a bit more.

We haven't seen much autumn colour at all yet! And we've had solid rain and a bit of wind for the last 10 days or so.... lol

The colours are kicking in big time now in our area but they are very subdued compared to other years, I think we just haven't had enough cold night to really kick them up a notch. Depending on the year sometimes they can be really nice.
