A warm Sunday afternoon, musical groups playing on porches, food trucks and shady streets. What's not to like? Some little folks were busy selling drinks.

It's a pleasant way to spend an afternoon. Porchfests are held all over and if there's one near you, I'm certain you'll find it enjoyable.

It's a bit early for serious color in the vineyards, but we did find some trees at the Valley of the Moon winery. As you can see from the second photograph, the fruit hasn't been picked.

Unless you enjoy itching, you do not want to touch this Fall color. It's too hazy and too early for any decent vineyard color shots, but it was good to get out and take a short hike this morning.

One Sonoma winery told me this past Tuesday that they had picked about 30% of their crop. The weekend traffic is nuts this time of year, especially this weekend with 5,000 cyclists in town for the Gran Fondo and others come for Harvest Festival at the fairgrounds. I was going to have some breakfast my favorite little French Bakery in Glen Ellen this morning, but the line to get in was completely around the building.

He observed Bad Bucky was back for rutting season. Bad Bucky was sniffing around poor innocent Jane Doe who was feasting on acorns. (sorry! I couldn't help myself this morning. But he is Bad Bucky and he just has to look... ...and sniff. They circled around the tree a couple of times and then the chase was on. The images were taken through a double pane glass door in high contrast lighting. Hope you enjoyed our little episode of Bad Bucky. Bucky comes around every year because we have three doe that make the thick brush in back their home. We have oak trees with lots of acorns, and the deer gather here for Fall feeding. Bucky's visits generally result in at least one fawn in the Spring. One Spring we saw four fawns, but I think Bucky had help that prior Fall.
