I played around with it with both dogs and it seemed to work well. I highly doubt it is the eye more the nose I am sure on dogs. A better test would be at f2.8 and see where the focus is. I can say the eye focus worked better tracking on the dogs then the large zone did.

Right - so it was the face tracking option (which seems happy to have a good go at tracking anything you put it over!) but the eye detection itself didn't kick in? I had a similar experience when I tried it with my dogs, but I found that even with a less forgiving DOF it does a surprisingly capable job.

BTW very nice shot of a very happy dog:)

Im just adding to the hate and spreading fake news ;-)a, Nice, i have yet to get an RF lens but i do need a 35mm prime. Almost went with the RF but then backed out since i still own other 3 EF mount camera bodies i can use a 35mm with as well. Man i need to learn how to get rid of my stuff
