Arcs is from my Naturally Abstract collection and was composed at the Aiken County Historical Museum in Aiken, SC. This is a hosta leaf. I loved the greens.

Flakes is from my Naturally Abstract collection and was composed at Dreher Island State Park in Prosperity, SC. This is tree bark just off from one of the hiking trails.

Glisten is from my Naturally Abstract collection and was composed at Hopeland Gardens in Aiken, SC. This wet web feels larger than it was thanks to the two times life-size magnification. I loved all of the sunstars.

Tears is from my Naturally Abstract collection and was composed at Hopeland Gardens in Aiken, SC. This is the very first image of the sap I worked over the course of the summer these were created. Of course, I loved all of the reflections and refractions, but the colorful wood and moss were very nice as well.

Globs is from my Naturally Abstract collection and was composed at Hopeland Gardens in Aiken, SC. It is another from the tree sap series. I loved all of the refractions and reflections in this one.

Icicle is from my Naturally Abstract collection and was composed at Hopeland Gardens in Aiken, SC. I liked the colors and the pattern formed by the tree sap in this one.

Rolls is from my Naturally Abstract collection and was composed at Swan Lake Iris Gardens in Sumter, SC. I liked how the sharp points and edges create a tension in the center that dissipates as the petals become larger and open up.

Waggie Windmill is from my Naturally Abstract collection and was composed at Hopeland Gardens in Aiken, SC. I can't even remember how many times I searched for a composition using this subject over the years (too many to count). On this particular morning, everything fell into place.

Inner Smile is from my Naturally Abstract collection and was composed at the Aiken County Historical Museum in Aiken, SC. I loved the colors of this canna lily, but the patterns formed were equally alluring.
