My grip came in today, still waiting on the second battery. So far the grip don't look as bad in person as the pics show, but the more important aspect is how it functions. It feels like there is more substantial to the camera, fits a little better in horizontal or standard. Vertical? It does irk me a bit, it's a bit awkward when my thumb is reaching for the af-on button. Definitely need to pay attention but I don't do a whole lot of vertical photos.

My pinky feels like it has a home now with this camera and it so far don't feel quite as sitting in my hand wrong.

Also noted I better make sure I got at least a spare battery or two on a shoot because it doesn't look like I could resort to a bunch of AA batteries if I run out like previous grips :o but I think that reduces the weight and size a bit and prevent the accidental charging of alkaline batteries.

Hope it'll fit in my backpack...

Just got mine today from becextech.com. I have not even mounted it yet, but could not pass it up for. $179.00. 3 days from Hong Kong. The shipping only took one day! No tax or shipping charge.

Legit factory, not counterfeit ? A little leery at that price, but tired of waiting for 3rd party. I don’t mind gray market as long as it is genuine Canon

Legit. I was wary also, so I payed with PayPal in case something did not work out. They say it takes 1 to 3 business days to ship. Mine shipped on third day and was delivered FedEx Express signature required next day to Arkansas. Works beautifully.

Just saw this video too. The video capability (especially with the Atomos Ninja V) is one of the biggest reasons I got this camera.

This video shows off transitions a lot more than the overall quality of the EOS R.
