Canon did not release the lens with a lens hood. I ordered the overpriced Canon hood, but it has been out of stock/backordered for well over a month now. What do other users of this lens use for a lens hood with it? Thanks!

The correct hood is the EW-78F.

You could go to a camera store and try out all the other EW-78 lens hoods to see if one of them may fit without too much vignetting.

The "correct" hood EW-78F has been out of stock for 3 months. That's my point - it's ridiculous to have released the lens w/out an available Canon lens hood, and I don't understand why Canon does not seem to be producing any more of the EW-78F. B&H suggested a hood by Sensei that has reviews saying people used it on this lens without vignetting, so I guess that's what I'll try. I was just wondering what others have used.

What do you think of the lens? Can you compare it to the RF24-105 as a vacation lens?

I love a like, but feedback (including CC) is even better!

I love the lens and it is replacing my EF24-105. Both the RF24-105 and the EF24-105 are overall better lenses than the 24-240. But I love not changing lenses, I love it for travelling, day trips, and just about everything. I am keeping my 100-400 and my macro lens, but getting rid of everything else. The bokeh is good but not great - it is not like the bokeh you will get from an L lens. But it is very sharp from the wide end to the far end of the zoom range. It is lightweight and I can take just one body and one lens and carry it around all day.
