Oct 31, 2019 20:17 | #3831 Finally got my hands on a very good used copy of this lens and the first thing that struck me is the amount of colour and contrast that makes it through to the sensor. It seems very different to a lot of Canon lenses (and 'modern' lenses in general) in that regard. Did Canon try something new (~1996) with their coatings or glass for this lens?

I don't know the why...only that the 135L has a very unique color rendering, it shows up even using it on my Sony. Website

(3 edits in all) | Nov 01, 2019 19:10 | #3833 It finally started raining here and all my trees are sagging from the water, it's great but it's hard to get outside. I shoot with the flat neutral profile and setup a lightroom import preset to use on all the 135mm f/2 images with -10 saturation just because they are so damn colourful. IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/2hDQMRm![]() ![]() ![]() Edit: using the 'Profile: Adobe Neutral' (instead of Adobe Standard or Adobe Color) in Lightroom seems to do a good job at keeping the colours (specially reds) from surrealistically intense tones, I figure because the lens has amazing contrast and saturation and contrast are linked. The Adobe Neutral Profile is quite flat and gives a lot more room to work (kind of like c-log/s-log/other log video profiles).
