We'll hit low teens here. Singles up at the cabin. Came damn early this year...and the transition from summer-fall-winter
was fastest ever. I remember 'feeling' maybe 5 fall days.

Same for us here in Central Texas. It's not even mid November and we are going to be mid 20s in the morning. That is January weather.

C1 is a lightroom replacement, if you're into portraits, portrait pro is great for that sorta thing, and really optimized for it. I'm sure you can replicate in photoshop, but it's really tough to do what portrait pro does quickly and effectively.

C1 has some major cons for sure, and not the fullest fullest featureset compared to a LR/PS combo. Same holds true for Premiere and Final Cut, simply use what you've got.

I dont really know what the XMP data is, but opening a file in photoshop with "Edit with" retains all the changes I made in C1, so what am I missing?

When you make changes to the RAW file, the XMP is another small file that is separate and records all those changes. With DNG, they embed this file into the one file which makes storage and backup a bit simpler.

Is the green beneath the tree leaves mistletoe Lee?

I'm not too sure Gene. I didn't get that close to pay much attention to it.

10 star capture. I told Poof 'that's with the 85/1.4' even before clicking in on the flickr link to confirm!

You'll have to go to Flickr or FM for the big picture, this was a 5 image stitch using the Tam 17-28, from our campsite on Destruction Bay Yukon.
Yukon, talk about a lonely place....we'd go hours and hours and not see a soul.

Mistletoe-

Looks like it could be. There is a public footpath through where I was, but the tree was quite a way from it, and in full view of the farmhouse..... ߘ

I was curious because the green foliage at the bottom in the tree of Lee's photo was so different than the leaves above.

Very organized and tidy looking. Poof would be proud. :-)

Video Question ..

Does the a73 not have a touch and track mode?

I know i can do touch to focus , but doesn't seem like it tracks.

I normally wouldn't use this method , but I've got a little job coming up, small event where they want pics and video..

So I'll probably let my son do the video. He's decent at it but I'm trying to make it as easy as possible for him.. so he could tap on the screen and hopefully the star of the event will always be in focus.

My other option I guess is zone and face detect, unless anyone has better ideas..

Again, this is for video

European vs. n.American mistletoe. Ours is a bit worse than theirs when eaten :) Been used forever in 'home' remedies though. I remember studying mistletoe in
my second year pharmacognosy class (which led to my interest in bushcraft by the way, i.e. the name medicine man). But the conversation did remind me of the
urban legends on whether poinsettia is poisonous ;)
