Well Friday night was fun. Season came to end in the rain and cold. I think we fumbled 6 times against the #2 ranked team whose QB is committed to Alabama.

Really like the shots. You are absolutely getting the most out of that equipment. On the last shot ... one little thing and its just probably me.... but it feels rotated to the right by between 5 or 10 degrees. Can't figure out why I feel that... that and the hand reaching in from the right... might want to crop that out. But none of that takes away from a good image.

I would like to upgrade my camera set up but just can't justify it right now, and the 300 is just so sharp, I think it saves me a lot of times.

I am photographing a game this Thursday at Ratliff Stadium in Odessa. Does anyone here know if the lighting there is any better than a typical high school stadium. Was wanting to rent a 100-400 for the game, but if the lighting is as bad as most high school stadiums, then the 100-400 will be way too slow.

I can count on one hand the number of high school stadiums I've even been able to shoot in the endzones at. I realize I'm shooting on a crop sensor, but it's still pretty much a no go everywhere.

HS is ruff!!! Not just the fields, but the gyms are dungeons!! I covered the local HS basketball playoffs last year & it was black. I asked the school superintendent when they were going to turn the lights up to full power. I knew the answer just by the look on his face. The lighting @ Heinz Field was pretty good, but not good enough to bring my 400mm F/5.6 with a crop sensor during night games. Now that I switched to FF, that 400mm takes great shots at night games.

The fields/gyms with lights that are @ different kelvin temps with each cycle are still my favorite!!
