Stunning shot. It depicts an exciting moment and compositionally there are interesting repeated curves.

I have been trying to get a shot of this hawk since I moved into my apartment. Today it caught itself a fish and gave me the best chance to get a shot. I was snow/raining so my auto focus had to get turned off but I am happy with the shots. Just wish I could have gotten closer but there is a creek between us.

Hi Robert...

Thanks so much for your comment. Coming from you and being mentioned in the same sentence as Sha Lu is indeed humbling.

Ray that's very pretty all round.
A striking bird.

The Bittern can be right in front of you and sometimes it's a struggle to see it has amazing camourflage as it is completely motionless and when he wants to move he goes for it.

PC these Bittern photos are so nice. Certainly magnificent birds

Note: the EXIF info for my recent images shows "Sony FE 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM OSS". I'm actually shooting an FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS lens. The POTN gear database needs to be updated.

You post so many outstanding shots, I almost start taking them for granted, Shalu. Then I think, " how difficult would it be for me to capture images like you get?" The answer is virtually impossible. That's when I get my dose of reality. Just keep them these incredible images coming, Shalu.
