Canon RF 24-240mm f/4-6.3 IS USM

This was shot as the sun was just above the horizon. No saturation was added or needed. It was worth kayaking back from the island in the dark. Yes, I think the RF 24-240 is a keeper! There was some CA in the playback but the Lr lens correction profile took care of it nicely.

EDIT: I should have mentioned this was with a 6-stop and CPL.

Still haven’t had much chance to use my copy, but these shots are reinforcing my decision to buy this lens. I am Committed too it now and have sold my RF 24-105mm. Hopefully I will start adding more to this thread soon.

With the RF 15-35mm and now the RF 28-70mm as well, it has to know it isn’t going to be daddy’s favorite all the time.

It is the choice when I’m not headed out to take pictures, but decide to bring the camera anyway “just in case”. So getting a lot of mount time if not yet a lot of shots.

That's the way it was for me with the 80D and Tamron 18-400 before getting the R. The 18-400 went on flights but the EF 28-300L and EF 24-105L II were king and queen everywhere else. On the R the RF 24-105L often wasn't long enough so it took a back seat to the EF 28-300L (until it started giving err01 in July). Glad the RF 24-240 came out when it did.

Understood. So far it is better than the EF 28-300L in every way but three. I miss the 241-300 range. I wish it was weather sealed. The CA is stronger at the wide end and visible in the EVF when zoomed in, but it is still controllable.

The vignetting people are ranting about at 24 when you turn off the profile in Lr is a non-issue for me. When a person turns off the profile, they've made the choice to see the vignette and compensate on their own. But contrary to those ranting, nothing is actually lost using the profile. The frame seen in the EVF at 24 is exactly what is seen in Lr.

Fall colors are almost gone around here. Shot with RF 24-240 and CPL. In hind sight I should have used a faster shutter speed to stop the motion due to wind. As a result this image does not demonstrate the sharpness of the lens but I really like the effect.
