He really is.
He was walking in and out of my studio and out of nowhere just hissed at me.

Certainly put a smile on my face. Well done.
And a lovely cat.

Try Google earth and trace out distance on that.
A measuring wheel and a cat on a leash. Now that would draw attention. :p

Mark A. wrote in post #18915117 (external link)
Thanks a lot Tom!

That statue was begging for inclusion with Rocky.

I hope to re-do these images someday with a different lens to eliminate the background, and re-do the leash's handle, but for now these images will do
(We took these images quickly, to avoid drawing attention to ourselves).

I am glad that they made you smile, as they have made other viewers do the same, as that this was a major purpose in sharing them.

BTW, I hope to borrow a distance measuring-wheel, to get a handle on how far Rocky walks on a daily basis. We walk around a block in my neighborhood
(perhaps I can do it using the town's maps as well, or use some GPS-based "walking App").

Friends,

I know that I previously posted the image of Mary & Rocky going down the hill, in post #18915086.
I will ask for the forum’s latitude to be able use it again to elaborate a bit further on my buddy Rocky’s walks around our block.

I'll report today that my spouse Mary & I used one of her “Walking Apps” that uses satellite tracking and we produced a very funny map of the route that we take when we walk with Rocky around our block.
It revealed that the distance that we walk as to being 0.40 mile. This is close enough measuring for me.

I will also reveal that I have no skills with making videos, but just using my old phone, I have made four videos of Rocky that are viewable to the public.
I think that a viewer will be best served by turning off the sound on their viewing device, before they start watching
(there is no meaningful sound to these videos except perhaps, for the Ella Fitzgerald one).

A couple of the videos start at the locations that Mary & Rocky are seen at in the still images below.
The videos are also currently situated very near those still images when viewed in my "Cats" album on Flickr, so if the attached links in this post do not work, try Flickr for a good laugh.

Rocky is doing fantastic at our home. He has restored his body weight by a factor of 2 since we adopted each other last December, and he is now at a healthy weight.
Rocky turned six years old in July and I recently reviewed images that I took of him before our adoption, and it is appalling how thin he once was.
He has his annual veterinary check up in the beginning of December, and the love that we have for Rocky, and that he has for us, is undeniable.

None of this is stellar image making, so thanks for tolerating this update, in a photography forum.

Up one hill:

Renata, thanks for commenting.

My spouse Mary & I have had many cats over our 30 years together, and we cannot think of another cat that that we have ever met, that was as awesome as Rocky is.
When I researched choices for cat harnesses on-line, there are sites devoted to "Adventure Cats" that are taken kayaking, camping, and ride across Europe on some bicyclist's handlebars.
I think Rocky is that sort of cat as well.

In the preceding post, the thread lists the videos as "Images", and does not display a "Play" icon on or near them.
I think the funniest video above is the one with Mary & Rocky with the utility pole in front of them.
In it, Rocky is in a near panic that I am not immediately at his side, and he was running to close the distance between us.

Thanks again to you and to everyone that has taken an interest in my buddy, and to those that have been tolerant of such posts.

I agree. I wish that his middle-aged "udder", was not swinging in the breeze.

Someday, I hope to adjust the amount of food that is available to him.
Since he was deliberately starved by others in his past life, I think that we may have overcompensated.
(He ate voraciously at first. It was amazing to watch.)

I believe that you are a veterinarian, so your observation is valued by us. Thanks!
Rocky has his annual exam on 2 December and he will get weighed.

Looks like an udder, doesn't it?

From the "It's amazing what people will share on the Internet file", we have this gem:

Rocky and his buddy asleep in their recliner.
I've got my own waddle; at least in this angle of view.

Rocky sleeps like this a lot, rising up and down on my chest as I breathe.
We have bonded, it seems.

Probably just a bit overcompensating but too much is never good, as a vet I see it everyday. It's good that people are caring but it's very easy to over do it. But getting him checked and weighed is the best thing you can do!(I can't really diagnose from a picture, need to touch and feel)
Very hairy udder though and don't know how he will take to being milked :p
