Great street photography Steffen. You've got a bunch of visual narratives going on which really engage the viewer between dog traffic, the elephant commute and people going about their business. Excellent timing!

I love the top shot - another excellent composition with a strong sense of atmospheric perspective. You're really drawn into the far mountains as the level of detail fades into the distance; very atmospheric too.

May I make a suggestion - I don't feel the large black negative space at the lower left does much to strengthen what is a very good image. It actually detracts. I would make a tighter crop - removing a portion of that area - which would better focus your attention on the lone fisherman. Now HE is interesting. That very small person provides a wonderful sense of scale against the massive rock formations. Just one man's opinion

You are very welcome and it's a pleasure to view your work. I enjoy seeing what others are doing - gives me great ideas to steal.

I do a fair amount of volunteer judging at our local clubs and not only do we score the submissions but we have to support our evaluations with verbal critique in front of an audience of 40-75 people. Some nights can be quite "interesting" if the 3 judges are divergent in their views. Best way to NOT be invited back as a judge is to be mean-spirited, non-helpful and thin in your comments. We also try to follow one of life's big rules: "Don't be a jerk." There is another word I can use but this is a family program

These are magnificent. The top one is my fave by far. The details in the mountain, the road, the gentleman fishing, the overall depth of the scent. I understand the comment about the negative space in the lower left corner, but I actually think it adds to the photo. To me, it helps define the depth. But that's just my 2 cents.

Either way you look at it, it's a great image..... or images.

Photos, sculpture, paintings, print making are often works in progress. Often times we don't really know how we'll feel about a finished piece until we see something tangible in front of us. My father was an art teacher and I spent many hours watching him at home in his studio creating beautiful landscapes and representations of the world around us. Many times he would "work" and area of a painting and then go back into that same spot the next day and render a different interpretation. I learned a lot back then. My sister teaches painting at the local college and I sometimes sit in on her critiques. She too is a great source of helpful info and inspiration.

Most of the folks here on POTN are intelligent, creative folks and I've always enjoyed good constructive conversation over the years.

Sometimes we get a little impatient with our comments though and have to step back for a moment and think about what we've said. We're all trying to learn here and some are visiting for the first time. Patience is a wonderful commodity. Sadly it seems to be in short supply in my own country, when civility and courtesy seem to be a thing of the past; rant over.

I grew up on early '60 Austin Healeys and MGAs, had a '71 Midget as a first car-great times! Cheers
