Seems strange EOS 90D does not appear on Gear database for DSLR on this website more than 2 months after sales of camera began.

Not strange at all.

I'd say it is strange that, IMHO, POTN has the best forum software around (AMASS), is free to join, free to upload images and or use the Classifieds.

Currently only 1 person can add gear to database and that person wrote the software and pays the bills for POTN.
It is planned that in the future moderators and Admins will be given the ability to add gear to database but that requires an update to AMASS.

It is indeed difficult to keep in mind that behind AMASS is not a multi-billion dollar company but a single person. Very impressive.

Happy Valentine's everybody! Think I'll just go out and take some photos with my unlisted 90D.

"Not strange at all" seems just a teensy bit strange after 6 months.

Have you asked Pekka to add the 90D?

Yes, as have others. To my knowledge, no additions have been made to Gear since the Canon 90D hit the stores in September. First request for Canon 90D I can find on "official" thread for requests is September 16.

Maybe ask him for an update on the possibility of the addition. I know he was busy with the server move and what not.

So done. Thank you for the suggestion.

AMASS is superbly designed in almost every way, but the evidenced complexity of adding a camera or lens to the database is a shortcoming in my opinion.

I'm just curious. How does the lack of the 90D effect you?

I also have the 90D. I wish it was in the database so I could show it with the photos I post so people will know what body I used with out me having to post what body I used.

Others may have different view, but when I look at a photo here, I am seldom interested in the body. Unless the circumstances are extreme, all bodies these days can take excellent images.

I am personally more interested in the lens and the EXIF to see how it was shot.

I am also more often interested in lens and EXIF; however, when I am buying a camera, I like to take a look at what others are producing with the camera I am buying, both before making the purchase and for a few months thereafter. I do the same with lens purchases. This is the first time I have bought a camera almost immediately after the model was introduced, so this is the first time I have encountered the unlisted status for a camera on the Gear database. I am appreciative of what Pekka has created with this forum and find it helpful in a great variety of ways beyond my desires to see 90D images.
