Sounds like a nice machine. I really love working on pictures in 4K resolution. It’s much easier to see what your doing and how any changes look at close to 100%.

Speaking of sky-swap, via Landscape Pro. Thanks Gene for reminding me I had it.
Original sky was super boring. I don't know if the swap is that great but it is way better than what was.
Anyway this was our campsite view from Destruction Bay adjacent to Kluane Nat.Park Yukon Ca.

A detailed shot of the top of the King Building in Atlanta. I'm pretty this is the King building.

The clouds were moving quickly during sunset. This was shot during early blue hour.

Same here, I’ve always heard that one was the king and the one with the rounded “crown” was the queen. Nice shot! :-D

So got my surface book 2 today. Really nice PC and am impressed so far.

Hooked up my external hard drives and guess what? Windows doesnt recognize them because they were converted to apfs at some point and can no longer be read on anything but a mac! 9TB of data locked into apple's ecosystem!

I found some work around that allow windows to read apfs drives, but it doesnt work on all my drives for some reason, and the read speeds are horrendously slow on the ones that do.

I'm pretty pissed to be honest. Done with apple as a company. They're corrupt AF IMO.

Is your Mac dead? Find one you can use to transfer the files to an NTFS (or whatever Microsoft is using) drive. I believe (though now I will check) the only drives I make APFS are the boot drives. All my external drives are still more universal.

Mac is dead. Battery won't hold a charge anymore so even when it powers on, it dies when the processor starts doing anything.

I converted all my drives to APFS because none of my disk backup programs (carbon copy and backblaze) would work unless they were converted. And I refuse to live without local and cloud redundancies

I can probably borrow a macbook. or download 9tb of data off the cloud!

Still really crappy either way.

I'm not sure where Red Rocks Park is Alfredo but if you ever get the chance, be sure to visit Royal Gorge. Unfortunately, the one time I visited, the train that travels along the river at the bottom of the gorge was not running.

Here's a shot I took from the bridge at the top of the gorge. Hopefully, the size of the tracks gives some idea as to the scale here.

Wow, looks like a great place to explore. Thanks Gene. Oh, Red Rocks is in Morrison, CO which is close to Denver. I'm only 30 minutes from the red rocks.

Yep, that's the same logic I used to identify them. Thanks!

---------------

I've been behind on editing some cityscape shots so that's the reason for the past few posts with buildings in them.

This scene is from Chattanooga looking back at one of two pedestrian bridges. I tried to use the anchored boats as a leading line to the bridge.

I edited this one in DxO PhotoLab. I may upgrade the latest version. I really liked how the application handled the darker tones in this image.

Quick question regarding the Imaging Edge app and the A7rIV .

Is there a way to wirelessly tether and just see the images from your camera memory card? Currently I have it setup where I am sending a 2mp image to the ipad. I really dont need it there. The Canon photo app would just connect and share what was on the memory card without actually transferring the files. I liked this feature.

Hoping someone can help me on this.

If you do much shooting in your back yard, make sure the minimum focus distance won't be an issue. I was a bit surprised after having the 100-400 and not having any issues with its MFD.

For the 200-600, the Minimum Focus Distance is 7.87' / 2.4 m whereas on the 100-400, its 3.22' / 0.98 m.

Yep, you can do psuedo macro on the 100400.....way more painful on the 200600.
Forgot to mention....or maybe I did...but for Sony backyard plinking I'm all about the 70-350G, except the Nikon Z50 did arrive couple of days ago so I'm splitting
the load between the two platforms.

Speaking of the 200-600. Here's one with the 1.4TC when not even needed, but who as to know.

It doesnt have to be that way, my external is using exfat and all of my final cut projects sit on that drive. In the end, anything that touches any of my laptops are just staging grounds for my NAS. Not a lot of data I can lose. When I'm on travel and I want immediate backup, I use the cloudstation app, and it's like an unlimited dropbox (limited to my 10TB NAS).
