Man, Alan going to love this. I jumped on the Sony deal. A while back my GFX50s took a plunge at the beach and got damaged beyond repair. So I was thinking another used GFX50s as GFX100 is too much for me. Enter A7rIV for much cheaper price during the holidays. I only have 85mm f1.8 so far to play with and today there was some break in the 3-4 days of rain. Used AD200 in TTL mode. I am not seeing any Sony colors. This is my first time processing Sony files in LR. I did 1-2 mins just like I do for Fuji. I need to update my LR as I couldn't find any profile for Sony.

Handling on Fuji is buttery smooth compared to the Sony. Sony eye AF is awesome. Other things Fuji all the way. I am hoping Fuji releases an update to the GFX50s with better AF.

I meant the smaller body without the grip. Don't like the grip but I haven't held it in my hands. A coworker has it, we just need to setup a shoot and then get to play with it.

Wow your kids are growin' fast!!

Congratulations on a versatile tool!!

I've been mocked in the past to say such words as "colour science". It's been a topic of discussion how the A7r4 has a different colour render. The pair of A73 I have also is different from the older gen 7 series and even A9mk1. My assumption is that the A9mk2 will be along the same lines as the A7r4.

I think it would be cool for you to play around with a different system. If you ultimately do not like what you see....sell it. Nice to see you've taken a bold exploration route!

I've been low key in the camera world as I've been using disposable play money on Hifi 2 channel nonsense again. The rebate card I received at a Sony demo would get me a new A9mk1 for substantially less than a A7r4. Both camera's have been in my shopping cart in this debate. But then there is the upcoming Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 ART zoom for a killer affordable price of only $1099 USD!! Simple audiofile grade power cord surpasses the price of that lens LOL!!

In Canada there's no appealing sales for Sony gear I really want. Just the 3 items I've mentioned are on my short list. Hoping to see you explore more with Sony lenses. Dumping the A7r4 is understandable if you're loving the GFX files and Fuji render. You will experience more as you do more post processing of the Sony files in different lighting environments. Shocked you pulled a trigger on the A7r4.....

Oddly I still use my Canon gear for brutally low light environments with bounced flash with incredible keeper rate with no AF hunting issues. Otherwise I use the Sony a lot more for more general duties.

Hanging out with the boy today, on the doss from work for a hour, out for hot choc and a coffee. He smuggled his iPad along so I gave him 20mins on it - quiet time is also good every now and again.

The only shot I kept from the EF-S 10-18mm... it was a solid little lens, only returned it because it didn't function properly on my X-H1.

I replaced it with the EF-S 10-22mm, which works decently enough for my needs

Not yet, seems to be out of stock being so newly released. Seems to be a better overall near-super zoom than the 18-135 and 18-55 and if you don't need F2.8 then the 16-55 too, being that it's WR, OIS and constant F4 (if that matters to someone), but namely for me the reviews show very good optics at F4 through the entire range, and I like that it's 16mm on the wide end with more reach on the long end, making it more versatile for me than the 16-55 or the kit 18-55. And I favor the 16mm over 18mm comparing it to the 18-135. I wanted to borrow one or rent it to see how it felt. It seems a good size, light, smaller, not crazy. But it's on my short-list to be my only standard zoom' for my systems since I don't even have AF lenses as it is for Fuji. I'm very interested in this lens though.

Very best,
