First shots from my Holga 120N. I'm going to mess around with it a bit more. I shot Arista edu 400 and I'm definitely not a fan of the film. I'm going back to my Delta 100, 400 and 3200.

My V600 arrived this morning, and I've just done a few test scans, and I'm satisfied with the results actually. I need to pick up some archival gloves before I do too much more, and a better air blower to keep the dust away but I'll share this one seeing as I was happy with the picture at the time and haven't been able to share much these past few months.

Taken on my old Yashica TL-Elektro and 50mm f/1.4 combo using ColorPlus and Sunny 16 rule. This is an area of Valencia called El Cabanyal, it was originally a fishing town outside the city but is now a neighbourhood due to expansion. It has an interesting history over the past 25 years or so but quite a bit of that is political so ... for another time. I was going to take the picture and then the owner came through the viewfinder, and I could hear the dog, so I waited, hoping for something a la Koudelka. Happy to have caught his stride nicely.

Starting to work my way through the backlog of films to scan (with gloves and a rocket blower after a trip to town) ... these are from not long after sunrise down in Malaga. Still being a bit lazy with dust and scratch removal in Photoshop.

Are you using the digital ice? That should get rid of almost all of it.

It seemed to be making Epson Scan crash earlier. I'll try it again later.

Update: Working now. I'll have a couple of rolls to re-scan at some point.

Glad it's working. Just make sure not to use it on black and white films. The infrared sees the film grain as dust and tries to correct the entire image which leads to some bizarre results.

I knew there was something to remember about it from when I scanned film at Uni about ten years ago, but I couldn't remember whether it was colour or black and white. That's why, when the programme disappeared mid-scan the first couple of tries with Digital ICE on, I assumed it didn't like colour and switched it off ...

For whatever reason it seems to work now. These are actually from before I turned it back on, but my Leica M4 seems to leave the negatives cleaner than my Yashica ... something to do with the lack of mirror, maybe?

Anyone shoot Cinestill 50D before? I got some weird results using my X700 and 50/1.2. I shot it at box speed but tried to meter for the shadows. I wasn't expecting the halation on the 50D.

I've haven't tried it yet, but I'd like to! Last time I checked it was $15 a roll which is just way too much for me to stomach currently. As for the Halation, it's on both of the Cinestill films. It comes from the pre-removal of the remjet layer. It's more obvious on the 800T since you're likely to be shooting it at night and it shows up on the light bulbs.

The first picture was taken with a Holga 120 WPC pinhole camera on Delta 100 and the second picture was taken with a Holga 120N on Arista Edu Ultra 200.

Yes, but I didn't expect the highlights to blow so easily. I think part of the dreamy look is the old Minolta glass. I have another roll of the stuff in the fridge to go through my Rebel.

Cinestill 800T @ 400.

Essentially my favourite thing to do these past three months has been bike rides with my Leica. Two from on the road.

I'd have never guessed that was Tri-X. Did you meter at 400?

My first time shooting Portra 800. If it were a little cheaper I'd shoot a ton of this stuff.
Rebel Ti (300v), 135L, Portra 800.
