Male Cuckoo.
Tried hard earlier this year to capture one of these guys in flight.

Nicely flight shot, Terry! I like the way the cuckoo is posed.

Wow...This one is really nicely captured, Eggiez! Great work.

I like the full wing span. Nicely done, Mike.

Very nice, Sid!

This one gave me a start through the viewfinder. They usually launch away from me.

Very nice Sid.
Looks so graceful in flight
I see exif says 3:15 pm. Do these fly around during the day? Assume yes.

Both are beautiful.
They're very attractive birds and poses such as these really highlight that.

Just got back from Conowingo last night....must have picked a bad time of year to go...little activity, fewer eagles than I've seen before, and was told not as much
fish this year :(

thanks Kev, they're one of my favourite things, and that was the best session I've had with both the activity and the light being great :)

thanks Rich, they do fly in a seemingly effortless way, and yes they are daytime hunters, mainly late afternoon to dusk, sunset was around about 4pm that day.

Testing out my brand new lens - light was bad as the sun was starting to go down, and I know we dont like tail end shots.
