I see that you mainly use a 5d but also saw some shots with a Sony A7 iii. What makes you choose the A7 iii? Experimenting?

Yes, I wanted to experiment with it. I've had it for about 18 months or so and it really doesn't do that great when using an adapter with Canon glass. I have a few E-Mount lenses and it does fantastic with that. I'm actually going to be posting it for sale this week as I have a ton of Canon glass and don't want to invest anymore into the Sony system and buy their lenses. I'm thinking of giving the EOS R a try, but the lack of two card slots worries me for paid work. I've had cards fail on me in the past, and being able to shoot redundantly is very nice.

I think it's just that "lull" in the season. Unless you're in a warm region, this is not the time you want to be shooting a HS kid, particularly outside, lol. Most of class of '20 probably shot in the Fall. I have a session tomorrow with a kid who is simply "late to the party", lol. In my area, we've got about another month before the last of Class of '20 and the Early Birds for Class of '21 start happening with any regularity. Aside from that, the Senior business is really down for most everyone. These blasted kids think those cellphone selfies are "the snizzle"! lolol

So true. I think I've done 5 seniors for 2020 for the whole year. Really glad photography is not my main income.

Psshhhh!! Post away dude!!! I personally feel pretty dang good about my work, but like you, sometimes I feel somewhat inferior in comparison. And granted, every once in awhile, you'll get some chucklehead who thinks they're the "be all to end all" try to bust your bubble. But I think you'll be surprised at the support you'll find here from those who understand that we are not all equal, nor alike.

I personally want to get better at my Senior Stuff...I don't know that I want to be the whole huge production that some people do...but I would like to make them better...so I keep watching this thread, and learning. The few I have posted are ok, and the parents love them so I guess that counts for something!

Man, honestly when I first started in this thread back in like 2014/2015 I was so hesitant to post, I felt like me work was garbage compared to the work posted here. I just kept at it and starting only comparing my work to my previous work instead of everyone else. It helped me a ton and I feel like I've improved leaps and bounds in the last 5 years, but still need so much more work! Now I just need to improve my landscape work to get on your level!

We all have our strengths...I have been a landscape photographer for 25 years...I doubt I will ever have those same skills with people...
I guess I really just want to tell the story of seniors better, not just take their pictures, but actually capture who they are in an image.
