Apparently they have sent a message to signed up members informing them that the service is closing.

If you don't know what it is/why it is bad....

Is it even related to Kodak the company? Regardless there are many other similar sites offer low price photography to prospects. I have not seen one that is semi successful.

THE Kodak went bust. As is so often the case the company/brand name was bought buy some unknown company who then start to sell whatever under that brand. So legally it is related to to Kodak but it's Kodak-shmodak not Kodak-Kodak.

These sites just baffle me. How does somebody design a service that rips off your customers and then sits back and thinks: "Great job - why would anybody want to use a photo twice? I just fostered creativity and protected the world from repetitive boring visuals." How does any investor looks at the company and thinks "Incredible - the best idea since sliced bread. PhotoGs simply have an urge to work for low pay and no rights. This service finally satisfies the masochistic tendencies most hard working photoGs have"?

It's a very good example for business or organizations with startup ideas, or for those who already exist and are thinking of changing their business models. And for investors.

Bad ideas will crumble under their own weight.

People are not stupid. They know when they are being taken for a ride. And the small percentage who are stupid enough to jump on such a bus are not enough to make a business successful.

Be fair and honest to people and they will drive you to success. Rip them off and they will kick you under the bus...

... and you will lose your time and money.
