I recently picked up the EOS M5 with the 15-45 to bring on my honeymoon to Europe. As I would like to spend more time with my wife and less time composing and shooting, i'm opting to leave the 5DMK4 at home and go lower profile for this trip.

My question is this: I would still like to take photos while I'm there. Is the 18-150 worth renting just for the trip? Or should I spring for the EF adapter and bring my 85 1.8? We're going for two weeks to Paris, Genoa, Venice, Salzburg and Munich.

We have the 18-150mm and it is a decent walk around lens. I have the adapter and have used many of my EF lenses on the M5, but they significantly increase the weight and space so it eliminates the compact nature of the M5. So, I'd be very tempted to stay with EF-M lenses.

I've benched my FF gear for vacations and travel with the M6 married to the 22/F2, with an EF adapter on the 85/1.8. I think it's a great 1-2 punch, and fits nicely in a small hip bag.
I have the 15-45, but found I rarely use it.
If you don't already have the adapter - I suggest looking closely at the new Sigma 56/F1.4 instead of the 85 for a portrait style lens.

I decided to go with the Sigma, thanks so much for the recommendation! Decided the f/1.4 will come in handy much more than the focal length.
