This kitty reminded me of the cat image that sonnyk shared in post 10902
It is one of the "regulars” that frequently visits my back yard, and at least it has a home:

Luci just turned 10 yrs. old. She's never liked having her photograph taken. This time, she wouldn't look at the camera, but at least she didn't run away !
As I near 70 human years, I've owned several cats. She's the biggest love-bug of them all, and my constant companion. :-)

Charlie the stray .. before we took her in..

i have conflicted feelings about taking her in .. not that i don't want her .. but she's about 10 years old and i wonder where she would really be happier.

yes she's doing better now.. her eyes are now mostly open , although we struggle with her conjunctivitis. she wont let us pick her up , hold her etc.. and its been Extremely difficlut to give her the medication .. so she still has days where one of her eyes tears like crazy and you can tell she's not in a good mood .. but her fur is looking so much better and she's gained a few ounces i'm sure ..

still i wonder if she is stressed being confined suddenly in a small apartment after years of being 'free'

Nice pictures, Mark! :-)

The cat I posted (#10902) is of the breed "Norwegian forest cat"

It's a female cat and we got her as a kitten in 2017. She has this "majestic appearance", while at the same time behaving very gentle and nice to all four family members. :-)

Here she is around 6 months:

Mark, nice to hear that Rocky is doing well and you're enjoying his unique and relaxed personality.
My RIP Patches was like that. She rode to the vet in the front seat or in my lap resting her front paws on the ledge of a side window. She walked with me like a dog without a leash and my neighbors always cracked jokes about it by saying: oh, walking your doggy again.
No other cat I've had in the course of my life was like Patches.

Randall, even without being there or knowing you, I do know that you did the right thing!
When Mary & I adopted Rocky, he was terrified when I carried him upstairs to checkout the 2nd floor of our home, and he snarled and growled at me.
Mary and I then cheered ever milestone of his progress acclimating as an "Indoor Cat" such as: "Oh look!! Rocky put one paw into the parlor" or "Rocky walked across the bedroom today"!!
I have every confidence that Charlie will adapt, welcome, and embrace the safety and comfort of living in your apartment with you.

Your post, prompted me to share the image below.
On Flickr, this is the image's description beneath it:

Mary is the first to get up on a weekday morning, which she did on this day, but she also double backed and took a cell phone image of how Rocky sleeps with us most nights now.
He was a neglected 5-year old cat that we adopted and got off of the street, 1-year ago. In fact, this image was taken on the morning of his 1st Anniversary living with us.
