Looks like a jumbo plane taking time to take off on a long runway.
Great shot.

I wish. Here in the UK, it's £2149 for body + basic EF adaptor bundle, that's $2820 US at current exchange rates. Even the "grey import" market only gets down to £1369 ($1795 US) + shipping charges. Canon UK are not giving the quoted 20% loyalty discount either (mentioned by another poster), not that it makes it even remotely comparable to US prices if they did.

We get ripped off in the UK.
I would have bought one if the price was like those in the US.
This is why many people buy things in Hong Kong, or even have delivered from Hong Kong.

This is probably a dumb question, because if you could you would, but are you guys prevented from buying from a US dealer, or Canon USA, and having it shipped over there?

Got up early this morning to watch the rocket launch. This was taken about 45-50 miles from the launch site.
114 second exposure.

Has anyone gotten the Samyang 14mm f/2.8 RF with Auto Focus yet? I did. Lovely lens and so nice to finally have auto focus.

hoping SY brings the rest of the collection to RF mount, they have a bunch of nice lenses, the 18 f2.8 (tiny), 24 f2.8(tiny), 35 f2.8/1.4(tiny and large version), 45 f1.8 (tiny and pleasing optics), 50 1.4 (half the size of the 50L with pleasing optics), 85 1.4 (half the size of the 85L and high end optics). Best of all, these are all reasonably priced, from $200-$600, not too interested in paying $2000-$3000 in primes. $1500 is about as much as I'll pay for any single prime, not interested in paying more. I own most of the SY primes due to fantastic value and travel sizes. The 18, 24, 35, and 45 are small as the adapted 40 STM, and all lighter! The 24 f2.8 is a scant 80g, likely one of the smallest FF lenses in existence.

Looks absolutely great!

Thought about it myself, but I wanted wider, so I went with the 10 F/3.5 XT Premium in EF mount, and use it with the Canon control ring adapter. It has contacts, so it is very easy to focus manually, as it ie recognized by the EOS-R, which makes it possible to use Focus Guide :).

A wide lens like this will have fall-off at the corners at the larger apertures, but generally dialling in a little over exposure at the "larger" apertures (up to F/4) will fix that, and at F/8 it just is amazing. I don't think there is anything better out there yet, at 10 mm.

Kind regards, Wim

I am in the United States, so I don't know exactly how it works, but part of it has to do with VAT. Value Added Taxes.

If you import something it has to go through customs (whatever it is called there) and the value added taxes have to be paid. It is a little complicated and only a few United States and Canadian sellers are even willing to do it. Because of that, most UK citizens will buy from the normal exporting countries to use companies that already export to the UK.

Also Canon and other manufacturers have regional or country based warranties. If you buy from another country, repair places in your country may not cover the warranty, or in the case of some other camera companies other than Canon, they may not even offer service at all.

I’m surprised at the build too. The Bower 14mm f/2.8 Ultra Wide Angle I replaced is a tank, but I’m surprised this was actually 69 grams lighter, though I did weigh both with lens caps on. I’m pleased with this and would definitely purchase another Samyang lens f the opportunity arose.

I actually liked the few Astro photos I did with my Bower 14mm f/2.8 Ultra Wide Angle so I’m hoping this one is a little better. I’ll just wait for warmer weather though.
