This shot makes me wonder what his story is...Everybody has one....

Similar places in Shanghai when I was there 2010. Fascinating :-)

They remind me of the local hardware stores that existed back in the UK when I was young - now mostly replaced by giant DIY superstores.

Here in Hong Kong you don't see big DIY stores as much, which I guess is why these local places have survived.

Same in NZ re super stores. Very sad to lose the old personalised service we used to get in our local stores.

Some of the stores we saw in Shanghai would have only a couple of metres wide, and about twice that depth. But packed with itmes.

This is another compelling (at least to me) photo.
At first glance, it appears to be totally chaotic, then I saw that that the items were all sorted, like with like.
Then, I am curious about the three people in the photo: where do they live, are they related, how does their life contrast with mine?
Although I have been taking photos for many years, the impact of black and white has just become apparent to me, and I am embarrassed about my decades of obliviousness.

Like that first one Garry - sort of like the industrial version of the old TV program "Hollywood Squares." Very nice composition.

I like the shot, but there is not enough detail in his face.
