Every week we select a new theme, and then go out and shoot that theme. This week the theme is Photographers Choice. As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.

Show us anything you care to share! Your Choice

Here are the rules:
1. Shots need to be taken between Tuesday, after the new theme is posted and the following Monday by sunset (Whenever that is for you). Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Snapshots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
2. Post your shots at any time during the week.
3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e. embedding them) but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. A copy of the size rules can be found here: IMAGE POSTING RULES
That's it! Have fun! As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.
An index to previous weeks can be found here: POTN WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK INDEX

That's it!
Have fun!

Beautiful location...

[Shamelessly plagerised from some obscure website]
Hunua Falls is located in the western part of Hunua Ranges Regional Park in Auckland area. The spectacular 30-metre waterfall is part of the Wairoa River which carves through an ancient volcano as it winds its way north through the township of Clevedon, before meeting the Hauraki Gulf.
[end plagerism]

I was thinking today that it's been approx 50 years since I last visited while on a school camping trip - I remember being overly optimistic about my swimming skills and attempted to swim across the main pool, only to run out of steam half-way. Good job I could float reasonably well on my back otherwise would have been another statistic at the site, which has currently claimed nine lives (I think)

Today we visited with family so there was no swimming but the boys did get their feet wet...
Hiked for about 3 hours from the main site to a reservoir which was quite nice - my legs are going to be sore tomorrow!
I'm thinking the middle of the day in bright sunshine isn't the best to do this scene justice, probably very early morning after a really good rain might be better, or take out the IR camera and see what it comes out like :-)
