My wife spotted this Eastern Yellow Robin chick in the rain forest and in the gloom and then one of the parents appeared to add to the excitement.:-)

AN on-camera Canon Speedlite was used, as I could barely make out the birds in the VF - it was so dark.

Cheers

Dennis

How nice.
Beautiful parent, poor junior has a bit to go in that area :-)
Privelege to see both those. You certainly captured them very well despite the conditions.

Grey Butcher Bird
We've a family of them and the young ones are quite hilarious at times. The sound of them all today was astounding. The parents were chipping in as well as the juveniles.

I love the sound of the Butcherbird, or perhaps I should say 'sounds'. They seem to have quite a repertoire.

yes they sure are varied. I took the phone out and recorded after taking that middle photo but they had quietened down a bit.
Lovely to wake up to them chirping away in the scrub here
