This poor fellow was in our yard yesterday eating suet. The bill is really deformed. Seems to be doing well. Seems healthy and can get to the suet pretty well. I rarely see them at the feeders, so I am assuming it figured out it is a easier meal. I keep suet out all winter, so hopefully it can eat okay any way. Somethings must be difficult for sure.

Wow, that beak is seriously deformed. I saw a chicken with similarly deformed beak while on vacation in Hawaii last month

This Jay flew down from the tree to check me out. We ended up staring at each other for 15-20 seconds.

This is 1 pair of 4 Mandarin Ducks that I found at Cannop Ponds in the Forest of Dean. They are Wild Ducks that are so Beautiful, the only colour I believe is missing from them is yellow. It is estimated according to the RSPB that there are around 7000 in the UK and I'm pleased to say their numbers are on the increase.

It amazes me sometimes that you can be standing there pointing a 3ft lens at a bird and someone comes along with a dog and stands right in front of you as if you were not even there. I missed the shot first time the cormorant stretched it's wings because of this. Luckily he had another stretch 10 minutes later. What more can you do but smile :-).

The Only Berry Tree in the Wood attracted 5 male Bullfinches. The light was poor and they were very high up. Their stunning colours stood out.
