I'm glad that you explained, Renata. It could be imagined that someone's ashes were in that container, and the subjects were mourning the cremation ! :p

Hahahaha. No ashes, the cat sneezed into the urn years ago:twisted:
No, just kidding...

Decided to branch out and try a film camera. Managed to get a Canon AE-1 from ebay very cheap. Shot at ISO 400 but pushed 2 stops to 1600. Ilford HP5 Plus B&W film. Noise was a little higher than I expected, but very happy with my first time shooting 35mm film.

There's a lot of interesting and fun little details to search out in this photo. Then your eyes finally drop to the lower part of the image and you see the young girl, barefooted, standing on her tippy-toes to give her brother a peck on the forehead. And that kind of tops them all.

Thank you, Pekka! I'm sure some members here might have imagined that POTN might begin winding down. But that doesn't make the news any less disappointing. So generous of you to allow us to go along for the ride. As a result you gave us a way to help each other become better photographers. But there's still so much more to learn.

Haha actually they did! My son is a lego fanatic. He’s been doing huge sets since he was 5.

A couple of the first photos taken with my Christmas present, a Canon Rebel XS many years ago. My favorite oldest granddaughter, and my favorite youngest granddaughter.

Really going back in time, Canon AE-1. My daughter (lower left) is the mother of the younger granddaughter in the previous post, my son (center) is the father of the older granddaughter in the previous post. The other two kids are niece and nephew.
