What is your issue sir.....that I referred to the locomotive as 'her'?????

Please, get over your pettiness.
Funny, when I spoke with the engineer about the wondrous machine, he referred to 7470 as 'her'.

I was referring to the fact that you had cut off the engines chimney. It was meant as a lighthearted, humorous comment.
I assume the engine was moving away from you. If that is the case, then if you had waited a second or so longer before pressing the shutter button you would not have truncated the engines chimney, and you would have got a much better image.

Cutting off a steam engines chimney is akin to cutting off a brides head in wedding photography. You don't do it.

Just prior to Christmas a farewell tour took place to mark the end of the 1976 125mph High Speed Trains on the ECML in the UK.
Repainted in the original livery the tour train is seen here under the famous arched roof of York station en route to Edinburgh.
As you can see a lot of interest was generated by this farewell tour.

Well, not really a shot of the train itself, but I liked the signs and the texture of the snow along the tracks.

Oh good, another sniping troll in the train thread.
Being from Jersey, I can understand how you just couldn't help yourself.

But you should.

I finally got my film developed, Union Pacific Big Boy crossing the Grand River, Ft Gibson, OK. Canon AE-1, FiveStar 28-135 lens at 135. Didn't record the f stop or speed. I bought that lens at a Montgomery Wards approx 1975. Anyone remember Wards?

Film is a pain in the butt, but I still like it better than digital. Old fashioned I reckon.

Yes, I remember Monkey Wards. Shame they folded.
I like your second shot where the train is more exposed. Like film? I did too until I got lazy.

The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.

Thanks.
I did not pick a good spot for this event. Reconnaissance by google maps does not equal actual reconnaissance.
