New year, new decade. New opportunity to make resolutions I probably won't stick with...but this time it's different (at least I'd like to think so!).

My resolution is to not spend any more than $1000 this year on photography equipment. Last year I went a little overboard buying both Nikon and non Nikon gear (Lumix GX85 with 3 lenses, Canon 6D Mark II, Nikon 55mm 2.8 Micro, etc).

So, I plan to limit my spending budget to $1000 this year. I plan to make the most out of my D750 with my current flock of older Nikon primes; won't spend on what I "need" (a.k.a "want").

What are your photography resolutions for this new year/new decade?

I'm not going to spend ANY money on gear this year. We'll see how that goes.

I too first thought about "not spending any money on gear this year", but I know it will be impossible for me to keep that resolution. So, I came up with an amount that limits me ($1000). I figure if I have to work with only that amount it will force me to use what I currently own. Also, I figure if I had set my amount a little higher I would end up convincing myself that all I need is "just a little more" for that 24-70mm 2.8, etc.

Shoot more film, and less digital. A secondary, if I may: Since I retired 7 years ago, I want to keep my work-weeks to less than 40 hours this year.

My resolution is to learn post processing. Up to now I've been using Canon's DDP. Over the holiday I bought Affinity Photo and Topaz, both at good discounts. I'll be busy learning these programs.

When you see my camera gear you'll think I'm a pro.
When you see my photos you'll know that I'm not.

We can do this! I failed miserably at it last year, and Fuji will make it tough here in the next few months, but it wouldn’t be fun if there wasn’t a challenge to overcome :)

Learn to shoot landscapes and environmental portraits. I'm way too stuck in studio photos.

100% on my resolutions this year - "I will not make any resolutions"

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:
