I saw a tiny bird clinging to the side of a shed today and when I got closer in disappeared inside.
EDIT: (I'm assuming a Butcherbird)
Wrong. I've been told it's a young Brown Thornbill and many insectivorous birds have a slight hook on their bill.
I also learnt that little birds when they fledge aren't hugely different in size to adults as would be the case with my assumption :-)

I'll bet the hens taste better than the owls!

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

I've eaten them in past. They're very dark meat.
Legs look and are plump but they're runners not flying birds and the whole bird is tough meat.
Old saying (local folklore), boil together with a stone when the stone is soft throw away the bird and eat the rock :p

Fairy Wrens have returned in abundance along with at least 3 juveniles.

The Splendid Blue wren family was back again today, I am really enjoying seeing these little birds. Hard to get a great shot as they tend to be in the shade a lot and can't get a fast shutter speed. They are quick little birds. Today the took advantage of the bread left out for the Bandicoots.

Gorgeous Wren. Really nice to see and beautiful photos.
Interesting bodily habits similar to the Superb. Last two with extended body peering around them
Not sure how they named such. I'd have named yours Superb and ours Splendid :-)
Any little offspring?
