its s/s 1/250th sec iso 250 greg .. I had set a lower minimum shutter and auto iso expecting a repeat of xmas eve when they never showed till last light . but sods law struck and they came out to play mid day . it was sunny but with a sea mist as well (its on a wide estuary marsh) . I also tend to shoot hand held these days finding it so easy with the light weight of this combo 1.4kg and at one point I was even shooting one handed due to having to shade my eyes from the low winter sun . I have now reset to a minimum of 1/800th sec . .. I can't complain at the results though I'm 74 in a few weeks and got a dodgy ticker ,hence the need to use lighter gear .

Well done, much better than 'young ' me at 71 but with advanced emphysema and of course all those things that go with it, including now, a tremor. :(

Sold the 1.4 tc now Chris ,the range was covered by my 100-400 anyway ..once the mkii comes back I will most likely keep the 100-400 on that and the 50-200 on the mk1 or a macro in the summer ,

Nice pix. Snow Bunting and what, Fieldfare?

Any more thoughts / comments about the OMD breakdown after just three months? "Not a happy chappy" says a lot but wondering if you are sold on OMD or selling OMD?

Keep 'em flying,

Snow bunting and skylark ... and sold on Olympus things go wrong even with a brand new rolls Royce ... in fact just bought a mk1 as a back up .i can now share lenses with the wife ..or use the mkii with long range lens and mk1. With macro or 50-200 or 12-60 .
If you look at alternatives systems canon ,Nikon,Sony to get this flexibility you would be looking at thousands more dollars or pounds ... you are also looking at a far heavier and bulkier set up which at 74 and with a dodgy heart is out of the question

Yes the mk1 appears to be doing a slightly better job than the mkii ,that should be returning in the next day or two and I will be looking at it more critically when it does .and applying a couple of ideas I have learnt in a few days with the mk1 .. it helps that I have also now purchased a full printed out user manual
