Thanks a lot guys! :) here's two more R photos from the same day as the previous one's i posted. These photos appear a bit underexposed when posted on the forum, no idea why that is..

It's so easy to be discreet when you work with this camera, it doesn't matter much that the lenses are big but the camera is silent and small people don't seem to care about it. :)

Launch and (intentional) abort of the SpaceX Dragon capsule on 19 Jan 2020. This was a crucial test of the abort system before the capsule and rocket are certified for human spaceflight.

I was 2.9 miles away and shortly after launch the rocket flew into some thin overcast clouds. I kept shooting anyway, and didn't think I had captured much of the actual event. But once back home, I maxed out the "dehaze" filter in PS and was able to reveal many details that I couldn't see with the naked eye. Overall pretty happy with the images I got considering the clouds and other conditions.

Both shots taken with a Sigma 150-600C lens, monopod.

I work on Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. I am on launch console for every third launch, so the others I can grab my camera and shoot. My restriction is I must rermain outside of safety areas established for each launch. Other times I can set up my camera with remote trigger. I have many of my shots posted on my instagram page @gordonelwell_aviationandspace if you are interested.

I've had an issue where when I'm out shooting with my EOS R, sometimes my focus area will lock into one place and I can't move it around with my finger (the box turns blue). I usually have to take a photo to unlock it, or even sometimes shut off the camera and turn it back on.

Anyone have any idea why this happens and how I can prevent it?

Interesting sidebar tidbit that I think is relevant. I don't want to just see this get ignored.

Nikon just released a FW update to the Z6 that gives RAW video output. Did Nikon just single-handedly totally trump the R for video work? Did they know Canon couldn't or wouldn't release such an update to the R? Because of an upcoming release? Because they could use the excuse the Digic 8 couldn't handle it? (Which we all know is untrue because we've had RAW with ML since, what, the Mk II?)

Interesting point of discussion, methinks (hehehehe).
