.I would love to go back for that, as I also love to shoot water birds. Luckily there is a huge wintering population of ducks and geese right here in the Sacramento and Central Valley, so I can (and do) take day trips to the NWR's closer to home.

.You live in the Sacremento Valley ..... lucky you!
A good friend of mine lives down there in the Sacramento Valley, and considers the area to offer world-class opportunities for several species of ducks and geese in flight, including Pintails and Ross's Geese. . He himself is a world-class waterfowl photographer, so I put a lot of faith into what he says about shooting waterfowl in that area. . Feel free to send me a PM if you would like to know who he is; perhaps you know him.
I keep trying to work it out so that I can get down there at the best time for those species, but it is a difficult time to get away. . Hopefully this coming December or early next January will finally provide me with an opportunity to get down there for a few days.
Have you ever been so fortunate as to photograph a blue phase Ross's Goose down there where you live?
