I hear that. Although the RIV is not much bigger as it still fits perfect in my peak design everyday sling 5L. Speaking of I was an early supporter of peak designs tripod on Kickstarter. Ended up pledging for the carbon tripod and should be getting it this month. Looking forward to sharing thoughts. As a precautionary move I also ordered the tripod head mount as I love my Markins Q3. So let’s see how good it turns out.

I wanted to participate in the kickstarter but decided I'll wait and see what they have coming this year and add onto it with the discount they will provide. I've recently got a benro travel but the pd tripod looks great for the size. and dayyaam $$$ :P

hope it's good as it looks. I like the markins too and wanted to get a smaller one for light travel because the cheaper ones are, cheap.

Here it is next to my current tripod with Markins Q3i ball head. The peak design being carbon is lighter but what’s more impressive is how compact it folds. I’ve never had a tripod fold this compact before. Truly an amazing feat by them. Looking forward to taking this out with the R4 for some landscape shots.
