Nicely shot. :-) This must be in a fairly secure location, as usually some miscreants come along and break all the glass out of these old cars.

Thank you! The car actually sits in a junk yard from whom I asked permission to go in to shoot their old cars.

They have stood there since they were torched on the 10th June 1944.

My ambition for a good while is to grow old disgracefully. So far my wife tells me that I am doing really well!

Do you know the story as to why the vehicles were torched?

A few seconds on the 'ol Google reveals the village was torched by the German army in WWII, resulting in the deaths of 600+ people who lived there, mostly women and children. After the war, the president of France ordered the devastated area kept as a memorial.

The courageous SS were told that they couldn't take anything, no stealing at all. That has to be a one off! They were told to destroy everything as a lesson to those horrible, dangerous French!

It was an exceptional experience to wander around the village and even now I go cold just remembering about it. It isn't an experience I wish to repeat though.

Something a lot more pleasant. An abandoned old car acting as a bit of fencing in the vines just outside our village. An A3+ photo hangs on our wall now.

Errrrrmmm ?

Is it an art exhibit? No dents and no concrete on it makes it look like it was planned. Nice catch.
