I was given this Helios-44M 2/58 lens in 2006, when the camera plus lens could be had on eBay for £1. It was on a special edition Zenit from the 1980 Moscow Olympics. I gave it an outing on the cycle path this afternoon, for no good reason...

I found one from the set that maybe illustrates the 'swirly bokeh' that this lens is supposedly famous for...

I was going to start a post about the new Russian lenses I've acquired and I found this thread. Looks like I'm a little late to the party. The thread is 10 years old & the prices on these lenses are much higher now than they were for many of you.

Anyway, my Helios just arrived today & I can't wait to play with it. It's from '73 but looks brand new! I am also waiting on a Volna 9 macro & a Jupiter 21M.

Should be a fun summer!!
