Speckled Tanager (Tangara guttata) Costa Rica. A bit of planning was required for this shot. I placed a banana in a tree about two meters off the ground and immediately attracted some unwanted squirrels that were quite persistent. After chasing them away several times I finally gave each rodent its own banana which they ferreted away to a place far away from me and the bait for the birds. The activity of the two squirrels attracted the attention of several birds and I placed my camera in a well braced fork about eight feet away from the bait and started photographing several types of birds.
