=Bkopperl;19007782]Great photos. Frankly wasps scare the bejesus out of me

Thanks - I have seen these (small) wasps around our garden and they have never shown any signs of aggression, compared to the bigger, more aggressive ones that I have been buzzed by, so I was reasonably confident (and careful) as I approached them. A couple even landed on the Speedlite Diffuser to check it out on their way to/from the nest.:-)

Cheers

Dennis

Today I was lucky to find a wasp ready to leave its chamber whilst an adult looked on. It is interesting to see the difference between the eyes in the emerging wasp and the adult.

I used the Canon MPE-65 at approx. x2 for this shot.

Cheers

Dennis

Upper Newport Bay Ca. Seems like we also have a tagged Eagle. Eagle was hatched on the Island of Santa Rosa just off the coast. The Eagle was first spotted in the upper bay in 2018. Here the Eagle is chasing a seagull. Cropped.

It's wonderful to see the beauties of Australia being celebrated again after what seems like months of nothing but smoke and fire as the bush burned.

We have been very lucky so far here in Western Australia / Perth with bush fires as the one's we had didn't do to much damage. But summer is not over yet so we better hope it stays like this.

There has been quite a bit of coverage here in the US of the fires and devastation Australia has been facing this summer. We can only wish you luck and hope the recent rains there have, at least for the moment, resolved the problem.
