Different angle and tighter framing than the previous image. I like this one as it's closer in the ice feature but still has the leading line. I hope to get out again this weekend. We'll see.

I would probably get rid of the yellow part on upper right or darken it because it really draws my eye to it Renata

Certainly a real-world test would be ideal, but what they have seems to make sense overall, enough to see that it seems to fare better than the Tamron FE primes. The jury is still out (since the lens obviously isn't) but it would be somewhat tragic to find out that the third member of the trinity is dud (a bit like the SY50/1.4 compared to its wider and longer siblings); seems that things are chugging along well. At least show me full res shots. Showing green dot and camera beeping doesn't tell you much. Been there done that. Like I said I can make my GFX do same even though its AF is much slower than any mirrorless. I personally take variety of shots, mostly moving subjects, even running at me. See how it behaves in Af-C with eye mode. I am pretty sure this lens would be good. What I'd really like to see out of Tamron is an FE version of the EF35-150/2.8-4 which, on its own, would be a better/more versatile studio lens and, especially paired with the 17-28, a likewise more flexible travel lens without losing out too much on portrait capabilities. Something like Fuji GF 45-100mm f4, I can see it being more useful for studio shooters. Personally I hope Fuji will put out faster GF primes. Fuji XT-1, 18-55mm

Well ultimately this is a preview of focusing speed, not accuracy, nor a full review. I think they wanted to dispel concerns that the lens might be focusing like Tamron's FE primes. Apricane flickr

I recall the press release talking about the VXD motor is designed for fast focus with a quick drive. They mentioned fast autofocus many times in the press release, and unlike their other AF motors, this one is a linear drive. linear drive = sports, no need for circular rotation steps, push pull style AF motor. I doubt that many sports shooters will keen on using a lens that's missing 20mm at the long end, at least for professional gigs. Apricane flickr
