I have gone through a lot of bags and non have really fit the bill until I purchased this cheap waxed canvas, eBay bag from china bag..

This is not my idea and I'm sure others have done it, but if you look close at the 2 primes stacked you will notice epoxy joining 2 cheap ebay lens butt caps sanded smooth and glued together to keep the lenses from beating each other to death in the bag... Works very well.

Im not sure if Leica themselves or a third party made them but they were available years ago. I have done the same myself before but tend to only have one extra lens in my bag so it became redundant, works well though.

A small Cullmann backpack I bought for about 50 Euros a few years ago.
Looks much like a normal backback (unless you know the brand or notice the zipper going WAY down).
Holds my gear for most shootings so far.
Here, it's a Canon EOS 80D, EOS 700D, EF-S 24mm f2.8 "Pancake", EF 50mm f1.8 STM, a Go-Pro charger/spare battery, both DSLR's chargers and a Tamron 70-200 f2.8 VC G1 in the main compartment.
The GoPro, Filters and SD-cards, as well as spare camera batteries travel in the "lid" you can see at the top of the frame.

It can also carry the 80D attached to the 70-200, since this stretches the backpack it obviously limits width/space.
In this case I also packed two filters, the second body and the 24mm Pancake.
The tripod-collar was on there to "hook" over the velcro strap you see in the first image, it's also rotated to lower the lens hood.
The backpack has no "quick access", but this still let me quickly pull out the main rig for the day.
The yellow case holds 4 SD-cards, by the way.

I also recently got a Lowepro-backpack that's a few sizes larger, I'll provide photos when it's fully packed.
Note: The Cullmann-backpack has no dedicated Laptop-compartment.

I believe somewhere around 25 lbs including the bag. Much better than when I had the 800mm in there at 3.5lbs heavier then the 400mm f2.8 III

Well, it happened.
My trusty little backpack is too small now that I managed to fulfill my wishlist.
Backup (EOS 700D) has to ride in a random compartment.

Here’s the promised report on my Lowepro Vertex 300 AW:

Firstly, packed up with the drone but no backup body:

-Canon EOS 80D
-Canon EF 300mm f4L IS
-Tamron 70-200mm f2.8 VC G1 Canon
-Canon EF-S 24mm f2.8 "Pancake“
-Canon EF 16-35mm f4L IS
-Canon EF 50mm f1.8 STM

Here I ditched the drone (ignore the batteries), leaving enough space for a backup (Canon EOS 700D), a LensAid blower and something like a lunchbox.

IMAGE: https://i.postimg.cc/bNx3y7wn/77-EE4441-D799-4-B73-B7-E9-BD3797-C9-CAA2.jpg
Leaving the remote in another bag/pocket, both cameras and the drone fit.
This load, especially with my 17“ laptop in there, is quite heavy and would probably not get carried on foot very far.

I can’t prove it, but I believe ditching the drone and one or both small primes would allow a third 200mm+ lens to be carried.

Yes, I prefer the dividers also and the Pelican system looks like a versatile option. Once you've configured your Lightware or Tenba case, you've pretty much committed.

After switching back to dslr my current bag is no longer big enough. What do you all recommend for a gripped d810, sigma 35 1.4, sigma 50 1.4, 85 1.8, tamron 70-200 2.8, and xpro trigger? I currently have the tenba axis 24l and like everything about the bag so may just up it to a 32L but figured id ask for other suggestions too.

Gripped Nikon D810, S35 F1.4 Art, S50 F1.4 Art, Nikon 85 F1.8G, Tamron 70-200 F2.8 G2, Godox Xpro N, (2) Godox AD200, Godox AD600pro
