That's certainly not my type of image, but I have to agree - WOW!!

No worries, Lee. I understand; we all have our styles and preferences. And thanks.

As you know I don’t shoot sports so probably talking out of school here but it seems to me the a9 is everything I’d ever want and I wouldn’t pay the premium for the 2

the upgrades are good for the working pro...but for folks like me...the a9 still rocks...

I just wish I had the 200-600 to let me get closer to these little birds and not have to use the 2x...it is ok when you need it...but not great on the 70-200GM...the backyard is full of little birds this year...I stopped all pesticide treatments back there 2 years ago and have just let the space go natural...I also compost all my leaves back there...so the food source is enormous now. For the first time we have 2 pairs of Downy Woodpeckers.

Both really heavy crops from the a9...think 1/3 of the original frame...

Cardinals, Robins, Blue Jays, Eastern Phoebes, and other little birds flutter around...I sat out there this morning just listening to them all...to think I am 1.3 miles from a major highway artery of Atlanta is nutz...and part of why I don't want to move.

From more than two weeks ago. Haven't done much shooting lately as I was having problems walking. Feeling bit better now.

So I am busting my "next lens" plan. I was going to do a sony evaluation for the 200-600 during for an airshow I have coming up but I got the request in late and they cant get me one.

I know i am going to buy the 75-180 Tamron and sell the 28-75. Still looking at selling the Infra red A6000 and possibly the 90 Macro. And HAVE to get the CV40 this year.

But now I am considering pulling the trigger on the 200-600 early for the air show and since I seem to shoot as much wildlife as landscape. But I am a bit concerned about having a 75-180, a 100-400gm and a 200-600. If the 75-180 is really good I could maybe get rid of the 100-400 but I love that lens.

For those that have the 200-600 and the 100-400 what are your thoughts.

I know I asked this a while back but looking for updated feedback.

Thanks

I wonder, how do you all deal with the sensor dust on Sony cameras? It hadn't occurred to me that it didn't (seemingly, at least) the sensor like with my Canon, and now I find myself with sensor dust with only very sporadic usage...

I want both the 100-400 and 200-600...the latter is a massive lens and would never go on hikes for me...or be a landscape long lens...the former could do both.

I absolutely need to echo the comments on this photo: it is just perfect, so well done.

Not bad at all! Do you still use that Samyang 135? How do you find the experience of manual focusing at such a focal length and aperture?

This is my Minolta Spot Meter. It meters ambient as well as flash. I might be able to use it for shooting some film in the near future.

Love it. Bet in its day that was top notch tech. Still of value in my humble opinion.

Well, I like the result Randall. It has a beautiful dreamlike diaphanous quality that pleases my eyes and my mind. Looks like a cool scene from a music video.

Thanks .. I guess that you used the word "dream like" tells me it wasn't a 'complete' failure..

I just wanted more dreamy;-)a

appreciate the comment
